This weeks mug tells exactly how I feel this morning. I really don’t want to wake up and go to work today. I have no idea why the early part of the week I feel like a zombie.
One of the things I love about this much is that not only does it feature Goofy, who is my favorite, but the cool saying on the side. When were at Disney I made sure to meet him as many times as I could.
I said a couple of weeks back that I have found a new love for virtual races. They are fun to do and you can do them on your time. There is not crowd of people to fight though so really can go your own pace.
I found out that Disney has its own virtual race series going on this summer. So I checked it out. I mean I love running and I REALLY love Disney so this was a no brainer.
I signed up for the whole entire series and I ran my first one Tuesday to wrap up the month of June’s 5k. I am really excited to have done this race and it features one of my favorite characters and that is Pluto!
I am tired!
The past few months have been like a complete blur. We have had a lot going on. With the renovations, birthday parties, beach trips, sorting through old junk, working, and holidays I really have not had a whole lot of time to breathe.
I think my wife and I need a weekend of down time. As much as I love our crazy life that we built together, I would like to take a time out and sit in a hammock in the shade and just fall asleep for a couple of hours.
There are two things in this world that are amazing: Coffee and more Coffee. I never knew how much I loved it until I had children. My children are amazing but they are exhausting. I love them but they are at a 15 when I need them down at about a 3.
The other day my wife sent me a video of her in the drive thru at Chick-Fil-a and all you hear is my Evie yelling “BITE!!” and that was before my wife even got the food.
I sure I am not the only tired dad out there. I know there are some tired moms out there also. Parents should band together at these points. We all love our kids so it is ok to give each other a little break every now and then. Sometimes it is nice to go to a restaurant that does not have kid placemats.
Honestly I could not come up with something to write about today so this is all I got. Sometimes when you blog you get stuck and when you get stuck you tend to go on little rants like this about tired you are.
Have a great weekend…See you for #MedalMonday!
I am happy to announce that we are heading back to Disney in 2018!
This week I have been in touch with my travel agent and we are in the process of planning another epic trip to Disney World in April 2018. I am already registered to run the Star Wars Half Marathon a weekend in April so we decided to turn that weekend in a extra long trip as a family.
This time around it will be just the four of us going. That makes me sad but I feel we can manage an extended stay with only two adults. I am so excited to be planning this trip. I already have selected some of the places I want to make dining reservations at. I have been reading the food blogs like crazy. There was still so much to do that last time we could not squeeze it all in.
I am very excited to get back down there and I know my kids are.
Disney World here were come…again
Just when I think my little girls could not surprise me anymore, they do. I had a great Father’s Day and thanks to my girls and my amazing wife, I was showered with love the entire day.
I woke up to “Happy Father’s Day” from K-Dub, which was followed by lots of hugs and kisses. After we got dressed they handed me their homemade cards. Nothing is better then a homemade card.
I was taken to my favorite breakfast spot which is Stacks in Waxhaw. If you ever go I suggest you go early as the line can get crazy. We stuffed our faces with pancakes, French toast, and hash browns and bacon. So good and so worth it!
After breakfast went on our usual Sunday Target run to get some things for the week and my wife bought me some new clothes. When we got home, I left with K-Dub and went to see Cars 3. It was a great time with just the two of us. I spoiled her with candy and popcorn and she soaked up every minute with me.
When we got home we went swimming for a couple of hours at the neighborhood pool and then went home where I made my famous Mac and cheese with fried squash and cornbread. It was yummy! Then I was treated to Pelican’s Snowcones in Waxhaw. This place is so good. They over 50 flavors and it is very affordable. I got cherry margarita and blue raspberry. So good.
I loved my Father’s Day. I got to spend it with my girls who I love more then anything in this world. Being a dad is the best job I could ask for and one that I never take for granted.
Everyone knows that Pandora is the new and hottest thing at Disney World right now. I have not had the chance to experience this yet but from what I read on the blogs and seen on the videos, and heard from people is that it is a really cool place and worth the long lines. The lines for the two rides are anywhere from 200 to 250 minute waits. That is crazy.
I knew that when this place opened there was going to be cool merchandise to go with it. So when Pandora opened I found this cool mug on the Disney Parks app and had to have it. It os the Floating Mountains Mug.
I am so excited to visit this cool place next April and experience it in person but for now I can just sit back with this mug and have a little bit of Pandora at home.
Here we are. The past few weeks now I have recap my most favorite races. I have posted a ton of pictures from each race and of course taken pictures of the fronts and backs of all my medals Why the backs? Well one thing that was so cool about those medals was that they connect to make one big huge massive medal.
Completing this series of races last year was a huge accomplishment for me and I take pride in all the hard work I put to my 2016 race season. I am ready to brush off the running shoes soon to get ready for 2018 which is going to be a huge year for me. I am doing my first Triathlon, running the Star Wars Half Marathon in Disney World, and maybe a crossfit competition. 2017 I have taken a break from the race season to focus more on weight training but I will return an maybe in 2019 do the six pack series again.
