Working On A Better Me! (#9- Get Down To 200 Pounds)

I have decided to start my list and since I have completed the 30 day photo challenge, I took some time away as you noticed to decided what was next. I have decided to start working on things that are on my list. One of the things that I know is going to be hard to complete on this list is number 9.

The back story to number 9 is this:  My mom and my dad both have diabetes and I had to sit through most of my life as the struggled to keep it from controlling their lives. My mom has had the worse of this illness. She has lost all feeling in her toes and last summer had an infection in her toe that was eventually taken.  My dad’s vision has been affected by this disease and cannot drive at night. Along with this disease my mom’s side of the family has heart disease.

I am not going to let this happen to me. This is more than something on a list for me. This is a life saving act that I need to perform to protect myself and live a better life for my family. I know weight loss is hard and I am up for the challenge. I have to be.

I need your help fellow bloggers and readers! If you have any tips or information that can help me as I start this new quest to be a better me, I would be so thankful. I need diet tips and workout tips.

I have joined a gym and starting this coming Sunday I am going to start this new workout plan that will help me jump into shape. I am not trying to look like a Calvin Klein model but I am trying to save my own life.

Thanks everyone for your support already. Trust me when I say this is not going to turn into a weight loss blog. I am still going to continue to post whatever I think is awesome. I will post pictures soon of what I look like now and what I look like after 3 months. Please don’t judge! (LOL).

  1. You can do this! I remember when my goal was to get under 200, and now I’m 30 less than that! If you have questions or anything, feel free to ask… but for a few tips…

    -Don’t starve yourself. Seriously. The whole ‘eating too little’ thing is TRUE. I struggled to lose weight until I upped my calories by a lot. Now the weight is coming off as it should. Do some research into BMR and TDEE to get an idea of what you should be eating.

    -Everything in moderation. If you’re anything like me and every other dieter I know, restricting too much will just lead to binges. So, if you want a cookie… have a cookie… just one, though, and not every day. As long as you eat healthy 80% of the time, it’ll be fine.

    -Don’t be too hard on yourself. If you have a bad day… just start over. Don’t beat yourself up. Stuff happens, get over it 😉

    1. Thanks for your help! I am going to try this! I have a long way to go to get this 60 pounds off. I need all the help I can get. What kind of stuff should I eat?

      1. I started by eating whatever I wanted, but found that eating healthier meant I could eat more. Now I’m on a less processed foods kick, meaning I try not to use prepackaged foods. Instead of buying Uncle Ben’s rice, I make my own rice, things like that.
