I know that a lot of blogs this week have been talking about their own little accomplishments for the year 2013. I am sorry to say that I am to. Its time to reflect on the current year before watching that sparkly ball drop tonight and kick off 2014. I have to say that this year went by so fast. I am still getting over Christmas. I just threw my dead tree out of the house Sunday. I am so glad to have this year over with but I also have to say that I had a very busy and exciting year.
This was the year in which I became father. This is one of my favorite accomplishments and one that I will always treasure. As my loyal reader know, becoming a dad has been a real challenge. I went from baby thong maker to being able to change a diaper in my sleep. Oh that lack of sleep in the beginning that I still don’t miss. Those days were horrible. I eventually found my stride and got my parental self in check. Now I am never surprised by what happens next and I am actually pretty excited to see what 2014 has in store for K-Dub and I. I just hope that in 2014 that there is less poop up the back and a little more walking.
One of the other big events that happened this year actually happen towards the end. We built a house! This had to be one of the most stressful things I have ever done. I remember having to check on the house once or twice a week to make sure everything was done and installed the way we wanted. This went on for about 5 months. A very long 5 months. In the end everything looked great and we moved in without a problem. We love our house and the extra room that comes with it. I could not imagine us living anywhere else. My hope for 2014 is to get the inside of the house painted, get a fence in the backyard up, and buy new living room furniture.
2013 can also be known as The Year of The Babies! After K-Dub came in this world, it was not long after that her cousins HJ (Born in June) and Hayden (Born in July) came in to the world. She got one cousin on BrittWhitFun’s side of the family and an extra one on mine. So lets just say that Christmas was a lot of fun this year cause we had new members of the family to spoil. So now I guess in 2014 we will be having first birthday parties and new milestones to watch for. I can’t wait. I love kids!
This year brought so many changes to my life and they were all welcomed. I hope that in 2014 that the changes continue and that my family is continued to be blessed. So here is to a great 2014. May this year be just as amazing as 2013! Cheers!!!
