Wow! I can’t believe that the month of July is almost over. Where did the time go? I also can’t believe it’s been well over three weeks since my last post. A lot has happened. Although, not all good, we are still here.
Sometimes when you blog you have to take a few weeks off to recharge your creative side. To experience things, even if it is different or the same. I have spent my time away to focus on other things. My marriage, my kids, my training for this marathon, and find some new passions. All have been very rewarding and have made realize that when I set my mind to it. I can do anything.
My marriage was never in trouble. When I say I wanted to focus on it, I mean reconnect. Our lives together have constantly changed. We are no longer those kids who were constantly all over each other. We have responsibilities like a house payment, kids, and careers. Sometimes there is just not enough hours in the day to reconnect. So with my time away I made it a mission to at least have two conversations with my wife a day. Not only did this actually happen but I learned so much about her. Things that I never knew. Here we are with only three months left before we welcome our little girl into this world and I know that things are just going to get even more crazier. Atleast now I know that my wife and I have an understanding that we can lean on each other and we are each other’s biggest fan.
I am not going into much detail about this month of marathon training. I am saving that post for the end of the week. All I will say is that it has been both a struggle and a pleasure. I have learned so much about myself and what I am capable of. I can’t wait to write and share the recap for month three with you. It truly has been my favorite month so far.
So for the future, I hope to have a few more post about recent fatherhood events. Some are wins and some are fails but that is what it like being a dad. You win and lose but at least you are there. This blog has always been my creative outlet and I honestly can’t wait to see where things go from here.
Until next post,
