So this week is BrittWhitFun and I anniversary! We have been married six years this Saturday! For the next few days I am going to travel back in time and show some old photos from us when we started dating and also telling the stories of how we met and got engaged and finally married.
As many of our friends and family know we met at the local Urgent Care. My mom was my wife’s boss at the time and had been pushing for us to meet. I just went through a really bad breakup and my wife was left at the alter. I know right! Its like an episode of Grey’s Anatomy. I was not one to like being fixed up, especially by my own mother so I declined.
One day I woke up and I knew I had pink eye so I called my mom and she got me in to see the doctor. So I drove to the Urgent Care and sat in my my moms office until I was called to a room.
Once I was in the room and settled, this girl walked in with a red scrub top and curly hair. She could barley look at me and I just could not stop looking at her. She was stunning. As we went through the list of questions we came to “are you a smoker” and I said “yes”. She looked at me and asked, “Does your momma know you smoke?”
I replied and yes and later seen by the doctor. Once I was finished I went back to my moms office and found out I was set up by her. She had a plan all along to have my future wife take me back to the room. I told my mom she was cute and I would like to go out with her but I had to run. I wrote my number on a sticky note and gave it to my mother to give to her.
A few days later she called me and we ended up going out on a date. We talked about our past relationships and what we wanted out of love and life. We found we have very little in common but there was a spark. Soon that spark turned into a fire.
Since that first date we never left each other’s side. She would come to the apartment and eat dinner and sometimes sleep over and then rush home before her dad got home from work. We went to the beach and I met her Nana for the first time. Soon I was dating my best friend and it was not long before I told her I loved her for the first time on Holden Beach Pier.
The rest is history.
