Date Night, Cookouts, And Ripped Pants

This weekend was very busy as all our weekends are. It seems that my wife and I are busier then ever. We spend most of our weekends trying to hurry and get the laundry and cleaning done on Saturday morning so we can have fun a relax the rest of the time off we have together. This weekend was no different.

My wife had her company BBQ on Saturday at one of her doctors horse farms. It was a heart little BBQ complete with games, kegs of beer, pony rides, and lots of food. Naturally I headed to the keg while the kids played games. We mingled through the crowd. I talked to an old classmate from high school for a bit. It was nice. It was also VERY HOT. As the sweat started to bleed through my shirt I knew it was time to leave. I think the girls had fun.

After we got home and got the chance to dry off, my SIL E came over and watched the kids for us so my wife and I could go out and have a nice dinner just the two of us.

It was nice to get away with my love and stuff our faces with chicken, steak, and chocolate cake. It was not on my approved eating clean diet but well worth it.

Sunday was a blur. We went to the Another Broken Egg Cafe and had a great breakfast that reminded me a lot of our Charleston trip. Then we went home where the kids took a long nap, my went to the grocery store, and we relaxed at the pool for a couple of hours.

After getting the kids settled for dinner my wife asked me to pick up some Sabor Latin Street Grill for dinner so I headed up to Wesley Chapel. Once I got our food and started to climb in my truck I heard a rip. I looked down and my shorts had ripped all the way down the seam of the crotch.

Besides ripping my pants my weekend was great. I would be lying if I said that has never happened to me before. I hope your weekend was as fun and crazy as mine was.

Happy Thursday!

Loving Family Cookouts

Last night my wife and I had her sister and her boyfriend over for dinner last night. It has been a while since we had them over and with it being Mermorial Day weekend, we thought it would be the perfect time.

We made a lot of good food. We fired up the grill to have some awesome tomato and basil chicken. Spencer slow cooked it on low to make it extra juicy.

Kate made an amazing new dish I have never heard of. It had tomatoes mixed with basil and butter and topped with seasoned sourdough bread. I hate tomatoes and I loved it. I am going to try and get the recipe and post it soon.

I made my infamous mashed potatoes with a new kind of spin. I put a dash of lemon juice in them and it made a very tasty difference.

We really enjoyed each others company and Kate told me she was going to help me with #17(bake a 3 layer cake) on my list of things to do so stay tuned for that.

It’s always wonderful to be with family. It reminds you that you are loved and always have an excellent support system. I am very thankful for that.

Summer Is Almost Here!

I came home from work last night and my awesome wife had cut me some watermelon! You always know it is summer time when you have fresh and juicy watermelon.

Now that I know summer is around the corner it makes me so excited! I now know I have trips to the beach, pool time, and cookouts in my near future! This is truly the best time of year.

What’s your favorite thing about summer?
