Let me start by saying that I am sorry for not following up on this past weeks blogs. Things have been nuts around the house and and trying to find the time to blog and update you guys has become difficult but I will talk about that later.
Picking up from my previous entry, the past few weeks we were grieving the loss of Tanner and things are still not the same. You would think with all the losses that my family and I have had that we would be come pros with dealing with grief but it still is easy and I have come to the conclusion that it never will be.
Many people know that my relationship with my brother has never been the best and I am not going into much detail about it but just know that we did finally have a talk and decided that we don’t always have to hang out or see each other every day. I can work with this. After mending some fences he invited me to the open preseason Panther game and you know I love my Carolina Panthers!
I had a great time. Too much of a great time and maybe should have never drank that 6th beer. Anyways, I was really glad to spend some time with him and enjoy some football also.
Finally the weekend came along and we had another birthday party to go to. This time it was for my other niece Charlee as it was her birthday. I can’t believe my niece is going to be in 1st grade this year! Where has the time gone?
The party was fun and even I got on the splash pad and got soaked. My girls had a blast and it was great to be around family and friends.
One thing that I never stop doing is learning. I always try to learn life lessons and sometimes I learn thing even when I don’t want to. I have learned that no matter what happens to just forgive and move on. That does not mean keeping the person around but to not let that hurt control your everyday life. Just let it go. Now sometimes it is harder then others and I struggle myself sometimes but you need to let it go.
The other lesson I learned was to stay out of God’s business and other people’s business and just worry about your business. This has helped me at work. When something does not go my way I have to tell myself I cannot control other people and what they do. I can only control what I do and how I react. This is more then likely my biggest lesson to learn.
I have a lot of cool things happening on the blog soon. A lot of fun things with the kids that need a post so stay tuned.
This past 4th of July weekend started out really good. My sweet niece Hayden Rose was born Thursday. She is perfect. Thank goodness she looks nothing like my brother. Welcome to this crazy family Hayden. I will teach you how to survive.
Well I am so excited because not only am I now a father to an amazing little girl, but I am going to be an Uncle for not the second time but a third time. My sister in law Cristina is pregnant with my brother’s second child. They are having another girl. I already love Charlee Bell to pieces and now I get to spoil another niece! It’s going to be a good time. They are keeping the name a secret until the birth so I just call her Baby No. 2. She is due to arrive in July.
Also Brittney’s sister Kate and her now husband Spencer are having a baby! Their baby is going to be her in June and I am so excited. It’s a boy, which is very awesome cause its the first boy in Brittney’s family in 43 years. They have named this bundle of joy Holden James Williams. He is named after our families favorite beach and home to the world’s best Nana. Kate has decided to start a blog about her experiences. You can follow it by clicking here
Well today we had a birthday party for my sweet niece. Actually her birthday is next weekend but with my brother’s new schedule at work they had to have it early. We had an awesome party with close family and friends. She got a lot of presents and enjoyed her cake. Happy Birthday Charlee Bell! Your Uncle T-Fun and Aunt Bri Bri love you very much!
Sorry I have not posted anything in a while. It’s been a crazy few weeks. I hope you all did not miss me and you kept up with my Twitter feed. This past week I got to hang out with my awesome niece. She is growing up so fast and it’s so hard to believe she is going to be two at the end of this month.
I posted a video of our new favorite game. Before the video was taken she was trying to find the baby under Brittney’s shirt. It was too cute. Here is the video and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did filming it.
We went to the zoo yesterday with my brother and his family. We brought my dad along too for a great Father’s Day trip. My niece had never been to the zoo and I was so excited to be with her for her first time.
After stopping for lunch at The Lizard Thicket (The best country food ever!) in Columbia, SC, we were on our way to Riverbanks Zoo.
After we got to the zoo we started looking at the grizzly bears first and from there on Charlee kept saying hey and bye to all the animals. She really loved the penguins and the bunnies. She even got to pet a goat. She had a blast and I was right behind her with my camera. I am so glad I got to document her trip. Charlee was so tired she passed out on the way home
The zoo was so awesome. It was not a big zoo but they had tons of animals and things for the kids to look at. I like Riverbanks Zoo because it is actually well worth the trip cause you get to see the beauty that is Columbia, SC. If you ever get a chance to visit, please do yourself a favor and go.
I know in my last post I said I had a lot of things to talk about. So much stuff has happened. I guess I will start from where I left off. Each story will be in each section of my life over the course of two years. From family, to work, to movies, to books, I will cover them all. So lets get started.
First up, I wanted to talk about my the newest addition to my family besides my wife(That update is coming soon!), my sweet niece Charlee Bell Funderburke.
Last time I blogged I talked about her being born and how excited I was. Since she has been born I have been so proud of her. She is so full of life and energy. She keeps me and Aunt Bree Bree (Brittney’s given nickname) on our toes! I love her personality and how she has become her own person. I love watching her dance to music and talk to me in her own language. She even can act like a dog and cat. She is fearless and has made Brittney and I ready for the task of parenthood that is hopefully coming soon.
I am thrilled to say that I look forward to watching the various stages of her life. When she goes to school for the first time and when she goes to prom. I love this little girl and she makes me one proud uncle. I look forward to seeing those little feet coming toward me with those little arms in the sky waiting to be held by her loving Aunt Bree Bree and Uncle T-Fun.
